Brendan Rodgers is 150 per cent sure he will keep his job as Liverpool manager, despite the Merseyside club s disappointing season.

Speculation has mounted in recent weeks that Rodgers position is under threat as Liverpool have failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League after finishing second in 2013-14.

However, the Northern Irishman insists he retains the support of the club s owners Fenway Sports Group ahead of their end-of-season review next week.

Benfica closed their 2008-09 Portuguese league campaign with a 3-1 victory over local rivals Belenenses, for whom the defeat means that they will spend next season at a lower level.

The match started well for Belenenses, who needed just three minutes for Silas to hand them a 0-1 lead. But Oscar Cardozo levelled in minute 21 and Benfica went ahead through Felipe Bastos in the 63rd minute.

The third and final goal came from Pedro Mantorras near full time.

Belenenses are relegated along with last-placed Trofense, who lost their final match 1-0 to Pacos de Ferreira. The only goal came from William in the 75th minute.

The highly rated Dutchman, who made 42 appearances for PSV in all competitions last term, has been strongly linked with Premier League champions Manchester United in recent months.
